It’s a vibe. Or at least that’s what we called our June #DRMF24 show. The sun was heating up the streets but it was the artists that were giving a whole lotta heat and definitely a vibe.

Headlining our June show was grammy-nominated Amythyst Kiah. Some may recognize this Tennessee native as a member of the group, Our Native Daughters. However, she’s found breakout success on her own, and as Rolling Stones described, she’s “one of Americana’s great up-and-coming secrets.” Before Kiah was Eddie 9V. Rolling Stones said he “turns his guitar and voice to gut-bucket soul, the kind that is not really made anymore, and his passion is so palpable it makes the music bristle with discovery.” Kicking us off was EG Vines. Channeling alt-rock of the 90s mixed with a high energy aura of punk, festival friends, expect a voice that stands out above the rest. Sharp wit and a nuanced point of view, our first artist up, is simultaneously “captivating, dynamic, and thought-provoking.”

Amythyst Kiah

Amythyst Kiah is a force, a Tennessee-bred singer-songwriter with a voice that can fill a room and empty it of small talk in a single line. A founding member of Our Native Daughters alongside Rhiannon Giddens, she earned a Grammy nomination for "Black Myself" and built records like "Wary + Strange" into something genuinely new: roots music with the wattage of rock and the nerve of confession. Few artists command a stage the way she does.

Eddie 9V

Eddie 9V

Eddie 9V plays blues and soul like a man who found the old records and decided to live inside them. The Atlanta guitarist and singer broke out with "Little Black Flies" and "Capricorn," greasy, horn-soaked, and gloriously analog, and his live show carries every bit of that sweat and swagger. Still young, already a throwback in the best possible sense, he is part of a new generation keeping real blues loud.

EG Vines

EG Vines

A Nashville songwriter with a rock-and-roll backbone, EG Vines writes sharp, socially-aware folk-rock that punches above the acoustic guitar in his hands. His songs are restless and literate, equal parts protest and confession, and his live show has the urgency of someone who means every word. A fitting opener for a night built on substance.
