Returning for our second year, the singer/songwriter showcase didn’t disappoint as native Oklahoman John Moreland entertained the crowd with new songs and fan favorites.  Together with Joe Pug and fellow Okie, Travis Linville, the three talented vocalists let festival goers know that DRMF was back for a second season, and better than ever.

Earlier in the day, the proverbial musical seats were warmed up by an outstanding lineup of young performers, ages 8-18, who enamored the gathering crowds with their songs in our first-ever “Opening Act” youth open mic set, sponsored by Spaceship Earth Coffee Co.

After Linville, Pug, and Moreland left the festival crowds mesmerized, the After Hours party continued at DWNTWN 312 with the genre-bending musical guest Desure, while Spaceship Earth hosted the songwriter’s songwriter and haywire hippie, Ben McKenzie.

John Moreland

John Moreland is one of the most quietly revered songwriters working, a Tulsa-based writer whose plainspoken, gut-level songs have drawn praise from The New York Times to Pitchfork. He writes about the heart with unusual honesty and no wasted words. Just him and a guitar is often all it takes to leave a room in stunned silence.

Joe Pug

Joe Pug

Joe Pug writes folk songs with the heft of old letters, dense, literate, and built to last. From "Hymn #101" onward, the Chicago-bred, Austin-based songwriter has earned comparisons to the greats while sounding like no one but himself. Thoughtful, generous, and a genuine craftsman of the form.

Travis Linville

Travis Linville

Travis Linville is an Oklahoma treasure, a singer, songwriter, and guitarist's guitarist who has quietly shaped the state's music scene for decades, mentoring some of its biggest names along the way. His own songs are warm and unhurried, his playing exquisite. A true musician's musician, right at home in Oklahoma.
