We ended the summer as only we know how… spectacularly. This summer #DRMF was full of originality, talent, and of course, a little red dirt mixed in.

Headlining our July 27 show was Cody Canada and the Departed. We also brought back our friends, Good Looks. With their new album dropping, having them at our festival was “Almost Automatic.” And, because we wanted to make this show truly amazing, we also brought Okie groups Five Year Gap and Roz the Band to the stage.

Cody Canada & The Departed

Cody Canada is red dirt royalty. As the frontman of Cross Canadian Ragweed he helped define the sound for a generation, and with The Departed he has kept right on going, louder and looser and as honest as ever. A Yukon, Oklahoma kid who became one of the genre's most beloved bandleaders, Canada brings a catalog deep enough to fill a night twice over and a live show that still plays like the bar might fall down around it.

Good Looks

Good Looks

Out of Austin, Good Looks make the kind of guitar-forward Americana that sneaks up on you, jangly and wide-open on the surface with real heartache running underneath. Behind frontman Tyler Jordan's plainspoken songwriting, records like "Bummer Year" earned the band a fierce national following and a reputation as one of the most quietly devastating live acts working in Texas right now.

Five Year Gap

Five Year Gap

Five Year Gap bring a homegrown Oklahoma country sound built for a Saturday night, equal parts twang, grit, and singalong. Their songs trade in the everyday stuff of small-town life, and their live show leans on the easy chemistry of a band that genuinely loves being on stage together. A regional favorite, they were right at home on a Dancing Rabbit bill.

ROZ

ROZ

ROZ rounds out the night with a sound all their own, the kind of opening set that turns early arrivers into instant fans. Bringing energy and heart to the Dancing Rabbit stage, ROZ is exactly the sort of rising act the festival loves to put in front of a hometown crowd before the rest of the world catches on.
